Dario Socci

Dario Socci[1] (born 13 April 1988) is a welterweight professional boxer who had his first professional fight in 2012.

After having 91 fights as an amateur, he moved to New York City to start his professional boxing career. On August 11, 2012, he had his first match as a professional super welterweight, winning on points by unanimous decision in New York. Socci trained at several gyms before arriving at the Morris Park Boxing Club in the Bronx where his primary trainer was Aaron "Superman" Davis, the former World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight Champion of the World. His second trainer was Lou "Honey Boy" Del Valle, the former WBA Light Heavyweight Champion of the World.

He spent a short period in Brazil to test the waters of Mixed Martial Arts, before moving to Berlin, Germany, where he trained at the ISI Boxing Gym for a year and a half. Through manager and promoter Rainer Gottwald, Socci had 8 professional fights and won 3 minor championships: GBA German International Superwelterweight Title, GBU European Welterweight Title, and GBU Intercontinental Middleweight Title[2]. In the end of 2015 Socci signed with the Pollex Box-Promotion GmbH of Olaf Pollex and Charlie Podehl working with SES Boxing. He had 3 fights through Pollex (2 victory and 1 no contest).

In August 2016 he started training at the Boxing Gym of Saul "El Canelo" Alvarez, Guadalajara, Mexico. His trainer was the former WBC Featherweight World Champion Alejandro "La Cobrita" Gonzalez.

On April 7, 2017, Socci flew to South Africa to face the International Boxing Organization welterweight champion of the world Tsiko Mulovhedzi for the Intercontinental International Boxing Federation title. Socci lost the fight with a very close decision[3]. In 2019 he moved to London where he trains.

As of July 2019, Socci has had 19 fights as a professional boxer: 6 wins by knockout, 6 wins by decision, 4 losses by decision, 2 draws, and 1 no contest.
